Monroe Locks
A locksmith can supply and install a wide variety of locks, such as:
Cylinder Rim Locks – Includes rim latches, cylinder drawback locks, cylinder nightlatches, APG locks, rim deadlocks, deadbolts and rollerbolts etc. Cylinder rim locks are available with a large array of operational features. The basic model is a simple latch that can be opened from inside and released with a key from outside. Top-of-the-line models will include more functions like double-locking, dead-locking, resistance to hacksaw and drill attack and resistance to picking.
Tubular Deadbolt – They can be opened from the inside by operating the lever unless it has been deadlocked from outside with a simple turn of the key. You can hold the latch back by using the snib.
The outside operation is by key, but this can be disabled by using the snib button on the inside as a simple deadlock function. A simple key turn should deadlock both the inside lever and the bolt. This stops unwanted intruders from getting in via another means and releasing the lock with the inside lever, but also makes it possible to lock people inside.
Cylinder Mortice Lock – Includes deadlocks, sashlocks, knobsets, nightlatches, sliding and metal door locks, plus panel locks etc.
Padlocks – Includes a revolutionary product selector for brass bodied padlocks, lever, cylinder, discus, laminated and combination padlocks, plus padbars, hasps and staples etc.
Cabinet and Camlocks- Includes cupboard locks, filing cabinet locks, camlocks and accessories, locker locks, box locks, till locks etc.
Door and Window – Includes metal/wooden window locks, door chains and bolts, multiple application locks, merchandisers etc.

Keyless Locks – Digital locks are increasingly popular for access control. This gives users access to secure areas without the need to distribute keys. A range of different types of locks and applications are available. Locksmiths can help with picking the most cost effective and secure locking systems to suit your requirements. Models available now include stainless steel digital locks which have a higher level of corrosion resistance.
If you really want to complete home security, you can improve protection of your house by implementing a residential alarm system. Most criminals would rather target a house or office that is NOT protected by a secure home alarm system. Also, statistical data from the government shows that most burglaries done on protected properties are unsucessful. This proves that secure home alarms are a great form of home security and a sucessful deterrent to most prospective burglars.

Types of keys a locksmith should service:
Master Key – Master keys are a key used to open more than one set of locks. In homes, for instance, the master key is almost always used to open all the doors in that particular residence, but each other room key are unable to do that.
Automotive Keys – vehicle keys are used to open car doors, trunks and the glove compartment as well as serving as the ignition key for the vehicle itself.
Skeleton keys – skeleton keys, or passkeys, are a simple type of key that can open drawers and cabinets. Skeleton keys offer very poor security.
Key Card – a key card is usually a card loaded with an electronic signature on it. The key card is used to open access control locks which are regularly found in motels and businesses.
House Keys – house keys come in two different types: house keys for lever locks and house keys for pin tumbler cylinder locks. The main difference is in the way they work. Lever lock keys raise flat levers in the lock making the levers to line up and shift a bolt back and forth. Cylinder lock keys line up the lock pins with the key and the shear line of the cylinder lock enabling it to rotate, turn the key, and open the lock.
