St. George Locks
A locksmith can provide and install a wide variety of locks, including:
Cylinder Rim Locks – Includes rim latches, cylinder drawback locks, cylinder nightlatches, APG locks, rim deadlocks, deadbolts and rollerbolts etc. Cylinder rim locks are available with a large array of security features. The basic model is a simple latch that can be opened at all times from the inside and unlatched with a key from outside. Top-of-the-range models will incorporate more functions like double-locking, dead-locking, resistance to hacksaw and drill attack and resistance to picking.
Tubular Deadbolt – They can be opened from inside by operating the lever unless it has been deadlocked from outside with a simple turn of the key. The latch can be held back by using the snib.
The outside operation is by key, but it can be disabled by using the snib button on the inside as a crude deadlock function. A reverse key turn should deadlock both the bolt and lever inside. This stops intruders from gaining access via another means and undoing the lock with the inside lever, but also means that it is possible to lock someone inside.
Cylinder Mortice Lock – Includes deadlocks, sashlocks, knobsets, nightlatches, sliding and metal door locks, plus panel locks etc.
Padlocks – Includes a revolutionary product selector for brass bodied padlocks, lever, cylinder, discus, laminated and combination padlocks, plus padbars, hasps and staples etc.
Cabinet and Camlocks- Includes cupboard locks, filing cabinet locks, camlocks and accessories, locker locks, box locks, till locks etc.
Door and Window – Includes metal/wooden window locks, door chains and bolts, multiple application locks, merchandisers etc.
Miscellaneous – includes bullet & shutter locks, parking posts, wheel clamps, gun cabinet locks, sae locks, vehicle locks, garage door handles etc.
Keyless Locks – Digital locks are extremely popular for access control systems. This allows authorized users access to secure areas without needing to distribute keys. A range of varied lock types and applications are available. Locksmiths can help with picking the most affordable and secure lock to meet your requirements. Models available now include stainless steel digital locks which are extremely corrosion resistant.
If you really want to complete home security, you can improve protection of your house by implementing an alarm system. Most criminals would rather target a residential property or office that is NOT protected by a secure home alarm system. Furthermore, statistical data from the government shows that most robberies done on protected properties are unsucessful. This proves that alarm systems are a great form of security and a an excellent way to prevent home break ins.

Types of keys a locksmith should service:
Master Key – Master keys are a key used to open a lot of different locks. In houses, for example, the master key is almost always used to open all the doors in that particular residence, but each other room key are unable to function in this way.
Vehicle Keys – automotive keys are used to open car doors, boots (trunks) and glove compartments as well as being the ignition key of the automobile itself.
Skeleton keys – skeleton keys, or passkeys, are a simple type of key which is meant to open drawers and cabinets. Skeleton keys offer very poor security.
Key Card – a key card is usually a card encoded with digital signature on it. It is used to open electronic access control locks which are regularly found in motels and commercial buildings.
House Keys – there are two types of house keys: house keys for lever locks and house keys for pin tumbler cylinder locks. The difference is in the way these keys function. Lever lock keys raise flat levers in the lock which allows the levers to align and move a bolt back and forth. Cylinder lock keys align the pins in the lock with the key and the shear line of the cylinder lock that allows it to rotate, turn the key, and open the lock.
